BSA NATIONAL JAMBOREES
The Boy Scouts of America had a National Jamboree in 1937. The next jamboree was in 1950 which was the 40th anniversary of Scouting in the United States. Approximately every 4 years since then there has been a National Jamboree, and there has been a medical staff present at every jamboree. Although recent jamborees have shown an explosion of memorabilia, medical staff patches have existed at every jamboree. There has been official insignia at every jamboree, even in 1937. Click on the buttons below to see the memorabilia from each particular jamboree.
I have also created a jamboree medical staff checklist. Updates will be made as I learn about newer items, with major updates after each successive jamboree.

My thanks to Dr. Hal Yocum, a long-time member of the National Health and Safety committee and silver buffalo recipient in 2007, who provided a lot of the research and history on the jamboree medical staff issues. See also Scout Memorabilia, 33(3), May, 1998.
