1969 National Jamboree
Two years earlier a World Jamboree was held here, but this was the first National Jamboree in Idaho. The dates were July 16 - 22. Attendance was much lower at 34,251.

This patch was created by Chief Medical Officer Merrill Sharp. A medical staff was overstitched on an official patch and presented to all physicians.
A seond patch was made. This was a reproduction of the official patch with a cut-edge. It was made in Taiwan and has a gold caduceus in the lower right. There are yellow and gold border. All are hand-made and slightly different; I have three varieties shown below. This is believed to have been made by Dr. Hugh Steele.
As seems to be popular with some of the earlier jamborees, I have a couple of neckerchief slides. I do not have much information on these. The first one is a caduceus with a jamboree pin soldered on top and is similar to one I have from the 1960 National Jamboree. The second is specific to one specific medical subgroup. I assume that there was either a fleur-de-le or a caduceus in the middle that has long since fallen off. The second one belonged to this individual.
